Dua sesio: Dimancxo 19a Oktobro je la 3a ptm cxe la PAN konstraujxo en Auckland
Str., Novkastelo-centro. Cxi tiu sesio estos parto de la "Fiesta" kultura festo.
Tria sesio: Sabato 1a Novembro je la 3a ptm cxe la Novkastela Ekologia Hejmo
kiel parto de nia cxiumonata kunveno.

Ni havas registrilojn haveblajn, nur petu al ni. La
kosto estas $5. Nepre pagu frue. Se vi jam havas registrilon kaj ne
jam pagis, pagu frue. La $5 estas validaj por cxiuj sesioj, sed ne nepras
veni al cxiu sesio. La gastinstruonto por la unua sesio estos Franciska
Toubale de Melburno. La sesio cxe "Fiesta" estos senpaga cxar "Fiesta"
estas senpaga festo, sed ni akceptas donacojn (evidente!)

Ni havas 5 certaj lernontoj cxe la kurso. Unu de la celoj de la
Multkreda Asocio por la jaro estas lernigi Esperanton al cxiu

Societaj novajxoj:
Je Sabato, Septembro 6a nia cxiumonata kunveno okazis. Andrew
Jonathan, Kim kaj la amiko de Kim, Steve, cxe-estis. Ni babilis,
helpis cxirkaux la domo kaj intruis kelkajn helpemajn frazojn (Saluton,
Mi estas ..., Dankon, Gxis, Kiel vi fartas, k.c.)

Je lundo, la 25a Auxgusto mi renkontis Alan Libert. Li estas profesoro
pri lingvistiko cxe la Universitato de Novkastelo kaj nia loka
lertulo pri kreitaj lingvoj. Li eldonis du librojn pri tiu temo: "A Priori
Artificial Languages" kaj "Mixed Artificial Languages". Li povas
legi Esperanton (kun la helpo de vortaro), cxar li faris E-kurson kiam
li logxis en Novjorko.

Ni eldonis niajn afisxojn pri la kurso. Mi donis dek al Alan Libert,
dek al Tom Jones por la Multkreda Asocio kaj Bahaana komunumo
(li kopiis ilin kaj disdonis ilin al sia posxtlisto kun cx. 200 homoj),
kaj pli al cxiu de la membroj. Cxirkaux la Muzikejo de Novkastelo,
la librejo de New Lambton kaj la Universitato de Novkastelo
legeblas kelkaj el niaj afisxoj. Mi profunde dankas David Banney
kiu elpremis ilin.

La Novkastelanoj komencas aktivi en la "Yahoo" listo pri Oceanio.
Gxi estas la oficala listo de la Oceania Komisio de la UEA kaj
mi petas al cxiu Esperantisto kiu legas tiun cxi novajxleteron
membrigxi al la listo per sendo de malplena mesagxo al
oceanio-subscribe@yahoogroups.com . Se pro nenial alia,
vi povos praktiki vian Esperanton.

Sorry that this newsletter is so extremely late. Our course
is come up very soon now - and it seems that it will be
very successful this time.

Coming events:
Next meeting: Saturday, 4th October at 3pm at the Newcastle
EcoHome (67a Hobart Rd. New Lambton 2305, diagonally opposite
West's). This meeting will be to prepare for the course. If you want
to come, please let me know by emailing me or otherwise. All
welcome!

Esperanto course: Saturday, 11th October at 3pm at the Newcastle
EcoHome (address above).
Second session: Sunday 19th October at 3pm in the PAN building,
Auckland St, Newcastle. This session will be part of the Fiesta
cultural festival.
Third session: Saturday 1st November at 3pm at the Newcastle
EcoHome as part of our monthly meeting.

We have registration forms available, just ask us. The cost will be
$5. Please pay as soon as possible. If you already have a form
and you haven't paid already, pay now. The $5 registration is
valid for all sessions, but you don't have to come to all sessions.
The guest teacher for the first session will be Franciska Toubale
from Melbourne. The session at Fiesta will be free because
Fiesta is a free festival, but we will (of course) accept donations.

We have 5 "certain"s for the course. One of the goals of the
Multifaith Association for the year is to have each member
learn Esperanto, so we'll certainly have some people from
the Multifaith Association as well.

Society news:
On Saturday, 6th September we had our monthly meeting.
Andrew, Jonathan, Kim and a friend of Kim's, Steve, attended.
We talked, helped around the EcoHome and taught some
useful phrases (Saluton = Hello, Mi estas ... = I am ..., Dankon=
Thankyou, Gxis = Bye, Kiel vi fartas = How do you do, etc.)

On Monday, the 25th of August I met Alan Libert. He is a
professor of linguistics at Newcastle University and our
local expert on artificial languages. He has two published books
on artificial languages: "A Priori Artificial Languages" and
"Mixed Artificial Languages". He can read Esperanto with the
help of a dictionary and he has attended two Esperanto
courses when he lived in New York.

We've given out our posters for the course. I gave 10 to Alan
Libert, 10 to Tom Jones for the Multifaith Association and the
Baha'i community (he copied them and gave them out to his
mailing list with around 200 people), and more to every member.
You can find our posters at the Conservatorium, New Lambton
Library and the University. Thankyou very much to David
Banney who printed them out.

The Novocastrians are starting to be active in the Yahoo
Oceanio mailing list. It's the official list of the Universal
Esperanto Association's Oceania Commission and I
encourage all Esperantists who read this newsletter to
join the list by sending an empty message to
oceanio-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. If for no other reason,
you will be able to practice your Esperanto.

For the coming meetings:
The October meeting will be preparation for the course.
The November meeting will be part of the course (everyone
will help teach.

Active Australian Esperantist living in Japan, Dianne Lukes,
is recommencing her Zamenhof Project. She had to stop the
project for a while for various reasons, but now she's
starting again. The project is aimed at people who've learn't
English for at least 3 years, or friends of Esperantists, and
shows them how appropriate, easy and effective Esperanto

"Mr. President, I'm afraid that, unfortunately, the situation
is worse than many entities would have people believe. In
Europe, linguistic diversity is deteriorating," said Marco
Cappato, an Italian radical deputy in the full congress of
the European Parliament. "The solution to this problem
lies not in the simple support of languages or minority languages,
because that's not enough. In my opinion, the solution
has a name that is neither easy nor comfortable: Esperanto.

newsagency Disvastigo is proposing a Transiberian (sic)
Esperanto-Train. "One week before the Universal Congress
in Beijing the wagons from every land in Europe will meet
in Moscow and will commence the Trans-Siberian Esperanto
Train with a travelling "pre-congress" and - very attractive
news - an international Esperanto school with specialists of
direct-method teaching during the trip, with long stops in
fabled areas such as Ulan Bator, and festive receptions
by the residents," dreams Bronzetti.
