=============NOVKASTELA ESPERANTA SOCIETO=========
===============Newsletter Edition 7: Novembro 2002=========

Karaj Esperantistoj,

Well, Esperanto action has been continuing steadily in Newcastle despite
no attendance at our course! The course was successful anyway (more
information below).

Please don't hesitate to contact us for further information at:
PO Box 294, Jesmond NSW 2299
Website: http://www.esperanto.org.au/newcastle.html

Coming events:
Next meeting: Saturday, 30th November at 3pm at the Newcastle EcoHome
67a Hobart Rd. New Lambton 2305 (diagonally opposite West's). If you are
interested in coming, please give some forewarning by contacting me.

Zamenhof Day: Sun 15th December. There will be festivities in Sydney on
SATURDAY 14TH December. We will not be attending as a group, because
only 2 of us have indicated that they are able to go. It is still possible to go
down individually. If you are going, please contact me and maybe a group
excursion can be organised anyway.

19th Esperanto Summer School: Sunday 5th to Friday 17th January. I will
most likely be attending, but probably not many others from Newcastle will.
Contact Jennifer Bishop 61(0)398187358 or esperanto@education.monash.edu.au
There will be Esperantists from all over Australia to participate in this annual
event.

Our first birthday: Sat 1st March. Nothing planned yet.

Treasury:
For the month to date:
Sales: $5 making the total $36.50 (to be sent to the NSW Esperanto Federation)
Donations: $5 making the total $11
Expenses: $14.05
Total balance: -$2.95 plus $36.50 to be sent to Sydney

Association News:
On Saturday, October 2nd we had our monthly meeting. Although not much
was on the agenda, it was good to be able to maintain contact with Esperantists
in Newcastle.

On Saturday October 12th we had our Esperanto Course. Although no new
Esperantists came, we were able to teach Esperanto to the residents of the
EcoHome, and meet Terry Manley. The day was a success and a step
forward for the group.

We have a steady group of Esperantists in Newcastle and the Esperanto movement
has settled well into Newcastle. We may have another course next year - where
people should prepay a month in advance so that we can evaluate whether it should
go ahead or not! In the meantime, we can still learn day by day and shower
propaganda onto our friends!

Laux la celo,

Jonathan Moylan
