Jen la Marto 2003 novajxletero. Estis kelkaj problemoj pri homoj, kiuj ne volis
ricevi la novajxletero, do se vi ne plu volas ricevi gxin, nur sendu mesagxon al
mi cxe jonathan@eepjm.newcastle.edu.au.

Ni jam organizas la kurseto kiu okazos cxi-jare en Oktobro. Ni gxojus havi
geinstrontojn por la kurseto de el Novkastelo. Cxi-jare, ni ne havos la problemo
ke neniu venas, cxar ili devos registri kaj pagi antaux ol la kurseto. Nepre sendu
retmesagxon al mi se placxus al vi instrui aux cxe-esti.

Esperanto kurseto: Sabato, 11a Oktobro je la 3a ptm cxe la Novkastelo Ekologia
Hejmo (adreso super). Ni havas registrilojn haveblajn, nur demandu al ni. La
kosto estas $5 kiu devas esti pagota antaux ol la 11a SEPTEMBRO. Se ne suficxaj
lernontoj pagos, ni anulos la kurseto, do nepre pagu frue. Se vi jam havas
registrilon kaj ne jam pagis, pagu frue. Ju pli frue, des pli bone.

Societaj novajxoj:
Je Sabato, Marto 1a nia cxiumonata kunveno okazis. Jonathan, Andrew
kaj Kim cxe-estis, kaj Andrew instruis. La instruado cxi tiun monaton estis
pri "emocioj" aux "pasotoj". Nun, se la instruado estas teda, oni povas almenaux
esprimi tion! Estas bedauxrinde, ke nemultaj membroj regule cxeestas la
kunvenojn. Kompreneble, kelkaj membroj logxas tro malproksime de la
kunvenejo por veni, sed aliaj membroj povas tre facile cxeesti kaj ne ecx
cxeestas unu dum la tuta jaro. Se oni volas povi disigi Esperanto en nia
regiono, ni devos fari pli da eforto veni! La grupo estas senkosta kaj nuntempe
ne devigas membrojn cxeesti kunvenon por dauxre membri, do faru la
penon kaj venu, ni petas.

Por la okazontaj kunvenoj:
Jonathan instruos por dum la Aprila kunveno, kaj
Kim instruos por la Maja kunveno (do pretigxu!)
Mi baldaux sendos la liston de libroj. Ni ne jam havas instruonton por la Junia
kunveno.

Bedauxrinde, du el niaj membroj, Evon Arthur kaj Mark Hetherington,
translogxigxis sen ecx renkonti la aliaj esperantistoj antauxe. Evon Arthur estas
longtempa esperantisto de Novkastelo, kaj estis membro de la antauxa esperanto
grupo, kaj nun translogxigxas al Kvinslando. Sxance mi sukcesis paroli al sxi
antaux ol sxi translogxigxis. Mark foriris pli kviete. Mi nur rete kontaktis lin unue,
kaj neniam plu povis kontakti lin. Supozeble, li nun logxas en Sidnejo, do
gxis la, Evon kaj Mark!

Mi parolis telefone al emeritigxita instruisto de Broadmeadow High (nun nomita
Hunter School of the Performing Arts). Li estis lingva instruisto, kaj instruis
la francan lingvon, la germanan, la latinan, kaj jes...esperanto! Li nur instruis
esperanton dum unu trimestro kiel provo, sed li estis komencanto de la lingvo
kaj sciigxis pri gxia utileco por lingva instruado. Li ne volas plu lerni esperanton,
cxar li jam penas lerni la hispanan lingvon! Laborema viro!

===========ENGLISH TRANSLATION===========

Here is the March 2003 newsletter. There have been a few problems about
people who don't want to recieve the newsletter, so if you don't want to receive
it any more, just send a message to me at jonathan@eepjm.newcastle.edu.au.

We have already organised the course which will be in October this year. We would
love to have teachers for the course from outside of Newcastle. This year, we won't
have the problem that nobody comes, because they will have to register and pay before
the course. Please email me if you would like to teach or learn Esperanto.

Next meeting: Saturday, 29TH MARCH at 3pm at the Newcastle EcoHome, 67a
Hobart Rd. New Lambton 2305 (diagonally opposite West's). If you would like
to come, please email me or write to me. Everyone is welcome! PLEASE NOTE THAT
THE DATE IS BEFORE THE FIRST SATURDAY OF THE MONTH.

Esperanto Course: Saturday, 11th October at 3pm at the Newcastle EcoHome (address
above). We have forms available, just ask us. The cost is $5 which must be paid
before the 11TH SEPTEMBER. If not enough people pay, we'll cancel the course,
se please pay early. If you already have a form but haven't paid, pay early. The earlier,
the better.

Society news:
On Saturday, March 1st we had our monthly meeting. Jonathan, Andrew and
Kim were there, and Andrew taught. The teaching this month was about
"emotions". Now, if the teaching is boring, we are able to say so! It's a pity
that few members regularly attend the meetings. Obviously, some members
live too far away to come, but other members could very easily come and don't
even come once in the whole year. If we want to spread Esperanto in
our region, we will have to make a better effort to come! The group is
free and you don't have to come to stay a member, so make an effort and
come, please.

For the coming courses:
Jonathan will teach for the April course, and
Kim will teach for the May course (so be ready!)
I'll send the book list soon. We don't yet have a teacher for the June meeting.

Unfortunately, two of our members, Evon Arthur and Mark Hetherington, moved
without even having metter the other esperantists beforehand. Evon Arthur is
a longtime esperantist of Newcastle, and was a member of the previous esperanto
group, and now is moving to Queensland. Luckily I was able to talk to her on the
phone before she moved. Mark left more quietly. I only contacted him by email to
start, and couldn't contact him afterward. Supposedly, he now lives in Sydney,
so goodby, Evon and Mark!

I spoke on the telephone with a retired teacher from Broadmeadow High (now
called Hunter School of the Performing Arts). He was a language teacher, and
taught French, German, Latin, and yes...esperanto! He only taught Esperanto
for a term as a test, but he was a beginner of the language and knew about
the usefulness for language teaching. He doesn't want to learn Esperanto any
more, because he's trying to learn Spanish! Busy guy!
