Jen la unua novajxletero de la nova jaro! Mi nun sendas la novajxleterojn
ankaux al cxiu de la esperantistoj kiuj cxeestis la somerkursaron en Melburno
cxi tiun jaron. Se vi ne plu volas ricevi tiun cxi novajxleteron (la cxeforgano
de la Novkastela Esperanta Societo), nepre sendu mesagxon al mi cxe
jonathan@eepjm.newcastle.edu.au. Bonvolu vizitu nian vizitindan retpagxon
(la ligo estas super), en esperanto kaj la angla lingvo.

Cxi tiu estas la unua novajxletero kiu estas en esperanto ankaux kun la angla
lingvo (por la ne-esperantistoj kaj krokodiloj). Pardonu ke tiu cxi novajxletero
malfruas, sed mi ne cxiam havas la tempon por skribi gxin.

Okazontoj:
Venonta kunveno: Sabato, 1a Marto je la 3a ptm cxe la Novkastelo
Ekologia Hejmo (Newcastle EcoHome), 67a Hobart Rd. New Lambton 2305
(meze frontanta "West's"). Se vi volas veni, bonvolu averti min pere de
retposxto aux alia kontaktmetodo. Cxiu estas bonvenota!

Nia unua jar-krefesto: Sabato 1a Marto. Ne planoj, sed nur por la scio!

Societaj novajxoj:
Je Sabato, Februaro 1a nia cxiumonata kunveno okazis. Nur Jonathan kaj
Andrew cxeestis, sed gxi estis nia unua kunveno por la jaro. Ni decidis teni plua
kurseto, sed cxifoje, la kurseta kosto ($5) pagendos almenaux unu monato antaux
la kurseto (probable la 11a de Oktobro). La pasintan fojon ni havis kurseton, neniu
nova venis! Se oni pagas por evento antauxe, oni normale venos, do espereble
tiu cxi kurseto estos pli sukcesa ol la pasinta! Alia decido cxe tiu kunveno estas ke
cxi tiu jaro, ni komencos instruadon. Malsaman membron instruos cxiun monaton.
Andrew instruos dum la Marta kunveno
Jonathan instruos por dum la Aprila kunveno, kaj
Kim instruos por la Maja kunveno (do pretigxu!)
Mi ankaux havas longan liston de cxio de la libroj, kiujn nia societo havas, kaj mi
baldaux sendos ilin al la membroj (prunteblaj por la instruoj ktp).

Je la 5a gxis la 17a de Januaro okazis la cxiujara somerkursaro kiu okazis cxi tiun
jaron en Melburno. Mi (Jonathan) cxeestis, kaj mi renkontis multajn esperantistojn
de tra Auxstralio (kaj ecx fremdaj landoj kiel Litovujo, Nederlando, Cxehxujo,
Novzelando, kaj ecx Vestralio!) Dum 10 tagoj mi lernis pere de la kursoj, dum 2 tagoj
mi faris ekskursoj al Sovereign Hill (Ballarat), Williamstown, kaj la centro de Melburnurbo;
mi babilis, parolis, esperantumis, verkis, kaj ludis violonon! La grupo de NSK gajnis
la Fritz-Mueler Soraux premio por kantado (kantis Terry Manley, Penny Voss, Joy Turvey,
gvitarumis la konegita Matt Maguire, kaj mi violonumis). Ankaux mi cxeestis unu
duonon de la AEA jarkunveno. La juna Novsudkimro Matt Maguire elektatis la prezidanton
de AEA! La instruistoj estis Grazina Opulskiene, Vladka Chvatalowa, Franciska Toubale,
Marcel Leeverald, Penny Voss, kaj Atilio Orellano, cxiuj lertaj esperantistoj! Mi renkontis
antauxlongtempan esperantistan amikon de mia patro, Danny Kane, kiu instruis min verki
kreeme, kaj auxskultis al paroladoj, lumbildoj ktp per Marianne Ormond, Atilio Orellano, Sandor
Horvath kaj Helen Palmer, Marcel Leeverald ktp. Bonsxance mi trapasis la Bazan ekzamenon kun rezulto
de 98%. Do, mi povas facile diri ke tiu cxi somerkursaro estis tre bona sperto.

Cxe la 19a Auxstralia somerkursaro mi renkontis Bill kaj Betty Aulsebrook, kiuj membrigxis al nia
grupeto cxar ili logxas nur unu horo for de Novkastelo. Ni bonvenigas ilin.

Here's the first newsletter of the new year. I am also sending this newsletter to
all the esperantists who attended the 2003 summer school in Melbourne.

is at the top of the page), which is in English and in Esperanto.

This is the first newsletter in Esperanto and English (for the non-esperantists and
"crocodiles"). Sorry that the newsletter is so late, but I don't always have much
time to write them.

Coming events:
Next meeting: Saturday, 1st March at the Newcastle EcoHome, 67a Hobart Rd.
New Lambton 2305 (diagonally opposite West's). If you want to come, just email
me or contact me somehow. Everyone is welcome

Our first birthday: Saturday 1st March. We have no plans, but just so that you know!

Society news:
On Saturday, 1st February, we had our monthly meeting. Only Jonathan and
Andrew were able to make it, but it was the first meeting of the year. We decided to
have another course, but this time, the course cost ($5) must be paid at least one month
before the course. (probably the 11th of October. The last time we had a course,
nobody new came! If you pay for an event beforehand, normally you'd go to it, so
hopefully this one will be more successful than the last. We also decided to start
teaching this year. A different member will teach every month.
Andrew will teach at the March meeting.
Jonathan will teach at the April meeting, and
Kim will teach for the May meeting (so be ready!)
I also have a long list of the books that our group has, so I will soon send all the
members a list of them (they are available for the teaching and so on).

On the 5th-17th of January, the yearly summer school was held, this year in
Melbourne. I (Jonathan) atteded, and met many esperantists from all over Australia
(and even such foreign lands as Lithuania, Holland, the Czech republic, New Zealand
and even Western Australia!) For 10 days I learn through the courses, for 2 days I went
on excursions to places like Sovereign Hill (Ballarat), Williamstown, and the centre of
Melbourne; I chatted, talked, "esperanted", wrote, and played violin! The group from
NSW won the Fritz-Mueller Sorau scholarship for singing (the singers were Terry Manley,
Penny Voss, Joy Turvey, our guitarist was the famous Matt Maguire, and I played
violin). I also attended one half of the AEA annual general meeting. The young
New South Welshman Matt Maguire was elected as the president of the AEA! The
teachers were Grazina Opulskiene, Vladka Chvatalowa, Franciska Toubale, Marcel
Leeverald, Penny Voss, and Atilio Orrellano, all of them experienced esperantists.
I met an old esperantist friend of my fathers, Danny Kane, who taught me to write
creatively, and went to talks, slide shows etc. by Marianne Ormond, Atilio Orellano,
Sandor Horvath and Helen Palmer, Marcel Leeverald etc. Luckily I passed the Baza
exam with a result of 98%. So, I can easily say that this summer school was a very
good experience.

At the 19th Australian Summer School I met Bill and Betty Aulsebrook, who joined our
little group because they live only an hour away from Newcastle. We welcome them.
