Association News:
On Saturday, 3rd of August, we met at the EcoHome. Although only 2
people came this time, we got a lot more done, and organised for the
Course in October. We also managed to read some UN and UEA
publications that are relevant to our goal as an association. We
also renamed the Association to the Newcastle Esperanto Society.
This is to keep the structure of Esperanto worldwide.
On Friday, 2nd of August, I made a talk to the Baha'i community in
Newcastle at the Migrant Resource Centre. They were very interested
in what our society was doing, and were extremely interested in learning
Esperanto. 8 books were sold, and all present were interested in doing
the course in October. Andrew was there with his friend Barry (who
also helped organize Stomp), and one Baha'i even said that it should
be compulsory for all Baha'i in Newcastle to learn Esperanto. All in
all, the talk was a great success.
We still haven't found Mrs. James, and would love to hear from her
if anyone knows who she is, or anyone else in the Hunter area who
speaks Esperanto.
Please feel free to contribute any news for our newsletter by sending
it to me. We are very busy, and are quite willing to get busier!
G^is baldaux (until soon),
