Esperanto kurseto: Sabato, 11a Oktobro je la 3a ptm cxe la Novkastelo Ekologia
Hejmo (adreso super). Ni havas registrilojn haveblajn, nur petu al ni. La
kosto estas $5 kiu devas esti pagota antaux ol la 11a SEPTEMBRO. Se ne suficxaj
lernontoj pagos, ni nuligos la kurseto, do nepre pagu frue. Se vi jam havas

kiu donis librojn kaj korektigis la novajxleteron (kiu helpas mian esperanton ankaux),

Societaj novajxoj:
Je Sabato, Aprilo 5a nia cxiumonata kunveno okazis. Kiel normale Jonathan, Andrew
kaj Kim cxe-estis, kaj Jonathan instruis. Jonathan instruis pri baz-numeraloj, la -on -op
kaj -obl sufiksoj kaj la diferenco inter "lerta" kaj "sperta". Esperinde, Jonathan
ne lacigis la cxeestantojn!

Tom Jones, la sekretario de la nova Multkreda asocio en Novkastelo kaj
sekretario de la bahaana komuneco, dauxre multe helpas nian grupon disvastigi
la scion pri esperanto kaj reklamadon de la kurseto en Oktobro. Mi menciis, ke la
Multkreda asocio en Novkastelo sxajnas kiel la Zamenhofa idealo de homaranismo,
kaj li tuj respondis, dirante ke li gxojas ricevi bonvolojn kaj deziras reklami la
kurseton inter la multkredanoj. Li ankaux deziras plani grandan feston en 2005 por
la centa datreveno de la unua Universala Kongreso en Boulogne-sur-mer. Estas
bone, ke ecx ne-esperantistoj helpas disvastigi la scion de esperanto.

Mi (Jonathan) ne cxeestos la Julian kunvenon cxar mi ne estos en Novkastelo -
ne ecx en Auxstralio! Mi iras kun mia familio al Belgujo, kie mi probable kunvenos
kun belgaj esperantistoj. La kunveno probable tamen okazos kun la aliaj
regulaj cxeestantoj, sed mi informos vin pli proksime al la dato.

Mi dissendis la liston de la libroj havataj per nia grupo al cxiuj el la membroj kaj

Hazel Green helpas kunvenigi Evon Arthur kun aliaj esperantistoj en sxia nova

Here's the April 2003 newsletter. It's been a busy month, and we're getting
closer to the course in October. We really need people to help teach, so
if you want to help, please think about giving up some time. Also, please send
information to people who might want to take part.

Coming events:
Next meeting: Saturday 3rd May at 3pm at Newcastle EcoHome, 67a Hobart Rd.
New Lambton 2305 (diagonally opposite "West's"). If you want to come, please
let me know by email or otherwise. Everyone is welcome!

Esperanto course: Saturday 11th October at 3pm at the Newcastle EcoHome
(address above). We have registration forms available, just ask us. The cost
is $5 dollars which must be paid by the month before (11th September). If not
enough people register, we'll cancel the course, so please pay early. If you already
have a registration form and haven't yet paid, pay as soon as possible.

You'll notice that we've received a big donation from a generous man called "Quentin",
a Usonian who was going to attend the course in Melbourne, but in the end couldn't
make it. He receives our newsletters, and wanted to help the group somehow. Our
group couldn't continue without the help of generous people like Quentin, and we're
not just helped by money donations. Other people help the group in other ways,
like Margaret Chaldecott, who gave us books and corrected the newsletter
(which helps my esperanto too), Jennifer Bishop, who also sent corrections and
good wishes, Hazel Green, who helped link Evon Arthur up with other esperantists
in her new region, and others, who think about us and send good wishes. If
you're so inclined, you can even pray for us!

Society news:
On Saturday, April 5th our monthly meeting took place. As usual, Jonathan,
Andrew and Kim were there, and Jonathan taught. Jonathan taught about
cardinal numbers, the -on -op and -obl suffixes and the difference between "lerta"
and "sperta". Hopefully, Jonathan didn't bore everyone else!

Tom Jones, the secretary of the new multi-faith association in Newcastle and
secretary of the Baha'i commity, continues to help our group spread knowledge about
Esperanto and advertising for the course in October. I mentioned that the multi-faith
association in Newcastle seems like Zamenhof's homaranismo ideal, and he immediately
replied, saying that he was very happy to receive good wishes and wanted to help
advertise the course among the multi-faith association members. He also wanted to
plan a festival in 2005 for the hundredth anniversary of the first Universal Congress in
Boulogne-sur-Mer. It's great that even non-esperantists are helping to spread knowledge
about Esperanto.

I (Jonathan) won't be here for the July meeting because I won't be in Newcastle -
not even in Australia! I'm going with my family to Belgium, where I'll probably meet
up with some Belgian esperantists. The meeting will probably happen anyway with
the other regular members, but I'll let you know closer to the date.

Andrew will teach for the June meeting
I've sent out the list of books that our group currently has to all of the members and
to the AEA libroservo and the AEA secretary. If you want to have the list as well
(in .xls format), just write to me.

Hazel Green is helping to link Evon Arthur up with other esperantists in her new
home in Queensland. I'd like to know where Mark Hetherington lives now; if anyone
can find him, please let me know.
